  World For Sale
George Grosz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
In Grosz's Germany, everything and everybody is for sale. All human transactions, except for the class solidarity of the workers, are poisoned. The world is owned by four breeds of pig: the capitalist, the officer, the priest and the hooker, whose other form is the sociable wife. He was one of the hanging judges of art. -- Robert Hughes
And rightly so everything and everybody in in this world is for sale. "Maul halten und weiter dienen"

Comments:
The world is for sale! I say wundervoll, wonderful, meraviglioso! Let us buy and sell. Let us trade and tradeoff. Let's exchange awake for asleep. Let's sell 15 minutes of blogspewing and buy 15 minutes of transacting in the markets.

The intelligentsia would have us believe that truth and life is logos. They would have us believe that their clever words -- their doctrines of propagation -- should be the model for our lives. Do the ungrammarianed working blokes have a place in that linguistic world, 'cept in some castes below the journalists and word writers?

I say, "Bunkum". If you bid 2 and me bids 1, you get a pizza slice of the World. Others suggest that oratory skill should determine who gets the pie. You know who they are -- the A-List-Word-Writers. The same guys who say "markets are conversations" and "the truth" axiomatically manifests itself from within conversation.

Yet, as soon as someone attempts to establish a numerical proxy (or, or god forbid, 'price') to represent some aspect of the 'conversation', the well-journaled, ruling-class-wanna-bees shalt shout CAPITALISTIC SWINE! Allthewhile, these same Logosians have figured out nifty ways to extract quam from the Rockefeller, Ford, Carnegie and the Gates Foundations --- they don't have no stenkn' dirty dew on their golden-blog-typing hands to do no buyn and selldom of the world wit.

What is to become of us poor-non-good-writn blokes? Is there room for us in your sans-commerce-post-wittgenstein-word world?

Who's word be True? Word? Word NOT! Let's transact. Semiotics dwells in the domain of Fox News, The Daily Show and The Blogs: you, know -- the Worders.

My bid is 1, my offer is 3. Can you narrow the spread and make the world more usefully livable, or do you just want to talk about it?

I am sorry but I have no answers for you. I have only more questions myself. You do however show that the pen is mightier when you are pissed off. - and no I don't want to just talk about it as you see there are not that many posts here.

Marek, I've enjoyed your writing for years and like to hear what you have to say. My question wasn't intended to be directed to you personally, just a dissatisfaction with things.

A thought popped in today I've heard many times - "United we stand, devided we fall" - I think I will make a post of it

There is nothing wrong with Capitalism. It does however have side effects when it takes over your life - it is similar to alcohol; in moderation and mixed with good food it lifts the spirits and invites camaraderie. When it becomes an addiction it makes you a wino and no one wants to hang out with you expect maybe other winos. Such is the way of Capitlism. It makes you a Pig. But Pigs get slaughtered when they get too fat. - which reminds me of the recent link to Prolegomena and this quote on page 3 - "'How do you prevent anyone getting too rich?' a British general enquired of an inhabitant of the Swat Valley (India) where a rudimentary form of communism is carried out. 'We cut his throat,' was the brief reply."
